Two cups, so nobody waits
This is the same two-litre drinker with a second Lubing cup fitted. What the extra cup buys is access: two birds can drink at the same moment instead of one standing over the other. In a small pen, where the pecking order gets enforced at the water more than anywhere else, that matters more than it sounds.
How long 2 litres lasts
An average hen drinks around 500ml a day, and up to a litre when it is genuinely hot. So a full 2 litres is roughly a day's water for four hens in mild weather, and about two hens in real heat. Chicks in a brooder will take far longer to get through it.
Litres and cups are two different things
The litres decide how often you refill it. The cups decide how many birds can drink at the same moment. Two cups, so two birds drink at once without one waiting on the other. Neither number is a flock size — if you want to fill a drinker once and leave it, look at the larger drinkers and drum drinkers instead.

The float is the part that does the work. It refills the cup automatically as the level drops, so the birds always find water at the same height instead of having to press anything. They do not need to learn a mechanism.
Good for chicks from day one
A cup drinker suits a brooder better than an open font does. There is no standing water for a chick to get into, nothing for droppings to fall in, and no damp patch spreading through the bedding.
New chicks do need showing where the water is. Tap the cup or the float with a fingertip while they are watching — that is usually all it takes.
Keeping it clean
The cup sits above the ground and is shaped to keep dirt, dust and scratched-up feed out of it, which is most of the job done. Rinse the cup out when you refill, and give the bottle a proper wash whenever it has held anything other than water.
Keep it out of direct sun where you can. Warm water grows algae faster, and shade also means the birds are drinking something cool in summer.
Two cups or one?
Both hold the same two litres, so the choice is not about capacity — it is about how many birds want a drink at the same time.
If the drinker is going into a brooder, a spare corner, or a pen where birds drift over one at a time, the single-cup version does the same job for five dollars less.

What does the second cup actually give me?

Does two cups mean it holds more water?
No, and this is worth being clear about. It is the same 2 litre bottle as the single-cup version. Cups change how many birds can drink at once; litres change how often you refill. The two are separate.

Can I use it for worming or supplements?
Yes. Two litres is a manageable volume to mix an exact dose against, and with two cups the flock gets through the treated water faster. Make it the only water so they take the full dose, and rinse it out thoroughly afterwards.
How does it mount?
Moulded hooks are built into the back, and two steel brackets and four screws are in the box. Hang it at about the height the birds carry their heads, lower for chicks, and spread the weight evenly across both hooks.
What if one cup stops filling?
Check for bedding or grit sitting under the float first — that is nearly always what it is. Rinse the cup out and the float should seat properly again. Meanwhile the birds can still drink from the other cup.
Will ducks use it?
They will drink from it, but ducks want to dip their whole bill and drink a good deal more than hens, so two litres does not go far. Start with our duck drinkers if ducks are the main users.
What is the warranty?
Three years on the drinker components Dine-A-Chook manufactures, and 12 months on the Lubing cups and nipples. Colour loss and fading, and rodent damage, are not covered.
