Two jobs every morning: top up the feed, tip out the water
Feed raked onto the floor. A drinker full of shavings, or knocked over completely. Sparrows helping themselves while your hens wait. This kit puts both on the wall — feed stays in the feeder, water stays clean, and the morning round gets a lot shorter. More than 80,000 Australian chook keepers have made the switch.
What is in the kit?
A 4.7L Large Chicken Feeder, a 4L Chicken Drinker with two Lubing cups, an upgraded float for each cup, and a mounting kit for each unit — steel brackets and screws for timber or metal. Nothing else to buy if you are mounting to timber. Mounting to wire mesh? You will want the Wire Mesh Mounting Kit (sold separately).
What size flock is this kit for?
The feeder suits up to 8 hens and holds roughly 3.7kg — about 5–7 days of feed. The twin-cup drinker comfortably waters 6–8 hens and will service up to 12. A hen drinks around 500–750ml a day depending on the weather. These are estimates from our own coops; breed, age, feed type and weather all move the numbers.
Running more than eight birds, or finding a queue at the water? The Large Feeder and Two Drinker Kit adds a second drinker and suits flocks up to 10 hens.
How does the feeder keep feed off the ground?
Feed gravity-feeds into a hooded base. The hood gives your hens room to eat, but the shape stops the raking and flicking that scatters feed across the floor, and a built-in rain hood channels water away from the opening so feed stays dry outdoors. No moving parts, no treadle, no training — your chickens work it out in minutes.
“The feeder has been a game changer. The chickens have been less fussy and the sparrows have moved on.”
How does the drinker keep water clean?
Water sits in a sealed reservoir and the two Lubing cups refill themselves as your hens drink, so there is no open bowl collecting shavings, dirt or droppings, and nothing sitting on the ground to be tipped over. Less open surface also means less evaporation through summer. Each cup comes with an upgraded float already fitted, and the Lubing outlets themselves are made in Germany.
“Amazing products. The waterer stays clean and there is less evaporation which is great.”
What feed should you use?
Quality complete feed — crumble or pellets. These give your hens balanced nutrition in every bite and reduce selective eating. Grain mixes let hens pick out their favourites and leave the rest, which is both waste and a nutrition gap. If the feed level looks low in the tray, that is by design: it keeps feed away from the edges so it cannot be flicked out.
How is it built, and how is it backed?
Every component is injection moulded in Brisbane and assembled by hand in Townsville — a genuine Australian made product, not an Australian made sticker. UV-resistant ASA plastic handles sun and rain year after year, and with no moving parts there is nothing to jam or seize. Backed by a 3-year warranty on the feeder and the Dine-A-Chook drinker components, and 12 months on the Lubing cups.
“Product is very well made, easy to install as I didn’t even need instructions. Chickens used it from day 1 without any hesitation. Top product and Aussie too.”
