For when one drinker is not enough
A single feeder and drinker kit handles 6–8 hens comfortably. Past that, water becomes the bottleneck — and through a Queensland summer a flock that queues for water is a flock that drinks less than it should. This pack adds a second drinker so there is a station at each end of the run, and pairs it with the large 4.7L feeder so the feed side keeps up too.
What is in the pack?
One 4.7L Large Chicken Feeder, two 4L Chicken Drinkers with twin Lubing cups, four German Lubing cups with upgraded floats already fitted, and three mounting kits — heavy-duty steel brackets and screws for timber or metal, one for each unit. Mounting to wire mesh? You will want the Wire Mesh Mounting Kit (sold separately).
Who is this pack for?
Flocks of up to 10 hens, or any run where a single water point causes a queue. If you are running 6–8 birds, the Large Feeder and Twin Lubing Drinker kit covers you for less. Two drinkers also means redundancy: if one cup needs a clean, your flock is not waiting on you.
How long between top-ups?
The 4.7L feeder holds roughly 3.7kg — about 4–5 days at this flock size. The two drinkers hold 8L between them, and a hen drinks around 500–750ml a day depending on the weather, so ten birds will go through 5–7.5L a day in the heat. These are estimates from our own coops; breed, age, feed and weather all move the numbers.

Getting your hens onto it
Most chickens work the drinker cups out within minutes. The feeder can take a day or two if they are used to an open tray — put a couple of handfuls of feed on the lip of the opening for the first couple of days and they will find it themselves. No training beyond that, and no treadle to teach.
