Most backyard keepers want the 59ml, not this one

This is the 946ml bulk bottle at $199.95. It holds sixteen times what the small bottle holds, and it is aimed at people running larger flocks, breeding operations and poultry clubs.

If you keep a handful of birds in the backyard, the 59ml bottle at $39.95 is almost certainly the one you are after. It is the size most people keep in the cupboard, and it lasts a long time.

It floats. That is normal.

The question we are asked more than any other. VetRx is an oil. It will not dissolve in cold water and it will sit on the surface. That is not a faulty bottle.

Use very warm water — not cold, not boiling — and stir it through.

How much do I use?

For a standard adult bird, one teaspoon of VetRx to one cup of very warm water. Stir it through, then offer it.

  • Scale the amount down for bantams and smaller birds
  • Mix it fresh rather than making up a large batch in advance
  • Decant what you need rather than warming the whole 946ml bottle
  • Always leave a supply of plain fresh water available as well

Read the label and follow the directions on it.
