>Q. Does the sun damage the Drum?
A. The Drum is UV treated. However, chickens prefer cool water and can become dehydrated if their drinking water becomes too warm. For this reason, Chicken Drinkers should always be placed in a shady spot.
Q. How do I stop algae growing inside?
A. The design of the Drum helps prevent UV light getting to the water and helps prevent algae.
Q. What sort of outlet can I use with this Drum?
A. We recommend genuine Lubing brand outlets for all Chicken Drinkers - they are the most hygienic and reliable option. We stock Lubing Drinker Cups and Nipples, complete with Dine a Chook outlets that fit this Drum perfectly, for the easiest DIY Drinker System.
Q. How many chickens will this provide water for?
A. On average, chickens drink about 500 ml of water per day, so this Drum will provide water for approximately 10 hens for 4 days. But water consumption varies depending on breed, diet and weather, so you should always monitor water levels in the Drum carefully.
