Cage Mount Lubing Cup Fitting – DIY Chicken Waterer System

- Versatile Mounting: Attach to solid surfaces or wire mesh using the included 2-part clamp.
- Standard ¼" Thread: Easily integrates with Tefen fittings for 8 mm hose systems.
- Compact & Practical: Ideal for DIY gravity-fed poultry hydration setups.
- Australian Design: Custom-engineered for chicken keepers by Dine-A-Chook.
- Lubing Cup Ready: Pre-drilled and suited to the included upgraded red float Lubing Cup.
This Dine-A-Chook exclusive cage-mount Lubing Cup fitting is the foundation of our modular DIY poultry hydration system. Designed in-house for ultimate versatility, the component allows you to position a water outlet just about anywhere—whether on wire mesh, timber panels, or the side of a chicken tractor.
Wire Mesh or Solid Surface? No Problem.
Install using both parts of the clamp to sandwich around wire mesh. A 20 mm square or circular hole is required for the ¼" BSPT male thread (13.5 mm OD) to pass through. For timber or steel panels, simply screw the main fitting into the surface and disregard the rear clamp section. No mounting kit required.
System Layout Example
Need help planning your system? Here’s a common setup using compatible Dine-A-Chook and Tefen components:
- Start with a 20 L drum or tank
- Insert ¾" to ¼" BSPT Bush (REDBUSH3/4x1/4) into the outlet
- Add a ¼" BSPT to 8 mm Barb Connector (BSPTM1/4x8)
- Attach the 8 mm Poultry Water Hose
- Insert a TEFEN Inline Filter (FILTER8MM) to reduce sediment
- Use a ¼" BSPT Tee (TCONN8x1/4) to divert water into the cage mount
- Continue the line to additional cage mount outlets, nipples, or a vacuum release valve
All components push-fit and thread together with minimal tools, making this system perfect for DIY and small-scale commercial setups.

Can this be mounted to wire mesh?
Yes. Use both clamp halves to sandwich over wire mesh. You’ll need to cut a 20 mm opening in the mesh to allow the threaded section to pass through cleanly for hose connection on the rear side.
Do I need to use the rear clamp piece?
No. For solid surfaces like wood, steel, or poly, you can mount the main part directly using screws (not included) and omit the clamp section entirely.
What fittings connect to this?
It features a standard ¼" BSPT male thread (13.5 mm OD), compatible with all Tefen ¼" female fittings. Most customers use a female connector or tee, with 8 mm hose as the supply line.
Is this suitable for mains pressure?
This fitting can be safely used in a mains pressure setup, provided it is connected via a Dine-A-Chook Header Tank or Mains Pressure Drinker System. These systems regulate and isolate the water supply, ensuring low-pressure flow into the drinker outlets. Do not connect this fitting directly to a pressurised water source.
