How to use bird netting
It is our recommendation that you should secure your fruit tree netting to ensure a longer-lasting and also more effecting barrier protection. Not only will a secure netting give you longevity, it also helps to protect wildlife from entanglement
To achieve this, you can secure netting to a frame, to trellises or other support structures, alternatively you may also secure netting to the plant itself.
This 4 m x 10 m length of netting is perfect for trellised crops including kiwi fruit, berries (cane, vine or bush) and grapes. The netting can be draped over the trellis and secured to the trellis supports otherwise you can secure to the base of the plants. Alternatively, pegs can be used to anchor the netting to the ground and effectively create a protective cage barrier. Note that some pest animals can crawl up under netting and that anchoring netting to the ground can increase the risk posed to wildlife.
In the case of delicate crops, a frame or support should be added to the top of the trellis to support the netting.
